Meet Heather

I'm a published and award-winning portrait photographer based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Having personally dealt with frustrations from national school portrait companies—like the time my daughter’s glasses glare wasn't removed and was covering her entire eye, or when one of my children had an eye closed and they didn't retake the picture or the time the prints I ordered were missing in the envelope and I spent 45 minutes trying to get ahold of someone to get a resolution— I realized the need for a local photographer who is easy to reach, an active member in the community, skilled in taking children's portraits, reliable, and detail-oriented.

Multiple Poses

As a mom with two children in elementary and another in preschool, I deeply understand the importance of creating school portraits that reflect each child’s personality. I am dedicated to capturing authentic smiles and memorable moments for families in my community.

When I show up to a school on picture day, I usually know many of the kids through family photography sessions or activities in the community with my own children and as a fellow mom, I'm able to connect naturally with the kids, making it easier to capture those genuine smiles that parents cherish.

I also understand the significance of getting everything just right—whether it’s smoothing hair, adjusting outfits, or making sure the children feel comfortable in front of the camera.

Each child's proof gallery will include a variety of images that parents will access with a private code. In addition to the adorable headshots all parents love, if a digital package is chosen, I'll also include full-body photos in their proof gallery as well. Shoes matter!

Both Indoor or Outdoor Options

Schools have the flexibility to choose the style of their school portraits. Whether you prefer indoor studio photos with a modern, solid color backdrop of your choice or outdoor shots in natural light, I work closely with each school to create the perfect look. The indoor option offers a fresh, contemporary twist on the traditional school portrait, providing a clean, professional finish.

Even though I’m local to Fort Wayne, I’m fully equipped to handle larger schools by running two photography lines with multiple assistants on picture day. This ensures a smooth, efficient process without compromising on quality or attention to detail. Whether indoors or outdoors, my goal is to make sure each student looks their best while creating a seamless experience for the school.

Sibling Photos?! Absolutely!

Sibling photos are my favorite! As a mom, I want sibling photos for my own children, so I've found a way to include them for parents! With our special QR code identification system, it's simple to take sibling photos and include them in your online galleries! I know you'll love these photos as much as I love creating them!

Easy Online Ordering

About 3 weeks after picture day, parents receive an access code to their child's personal, password protected proofing gallery and instructions on how to place their order. All print orders will be delivered to their home (or specified address) and digital file orders will be available for immediate download. All images are retouched prior to delivery.

Each child isn't just a face for me to photograph, but a little person in my community, with a heart and THAT is what I promise to capture for you.
